About Us

We began as Lyra's Muse Dance Company in April, 2007. Lyra's Muse was an adult performing group that was active at many of the local festivals, fairs, parades, and art shows in Oklahoma City. Several of the styles of dance performance included jazz, ballet, tap, and character. The current dance company changed members and a new group of professional dancers joined. The group emerged as the Oklahoma Showgirls in August 2009.

Our goals as a performing group include creating jobs in Oklahoma for professional dancers where there previously were no options aside from moving away. We would also like to introduce current audiences to the dance styles of the past that have been forgotten in today's popular culture.

Lynn C.

Lynn's experience includes 25 years of dance training through dance studios, public schools, and The University of Central Oklahoma. She was also a competitive artistic roller skater for 14 years. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from UCO, she opened Teaze Dance & Fitness, LLC. Teaze is located in the historical Automobile Alley district of downtown Oklahoma City.

Since 2009, Teaze has become known in the community as a haven for adult ladies who still want to dance beyond their teenage years. The classes are unique, fun, and great exercise.
